My approx 2 year old German Shepard / Collie mix (Willis) has a sore tail. He tends to hold it quite high and curled up but today its constantly low. He yelped when I tried to lift it. He can still wag it a wee bit. I've read that it might be from exertion - we've been gradually building up how far we run each week. 2 days ago we ran for 25 mins (4.5k) which is the furthest both of us have done. I was knackered at the end of it - he seemed fine. Running is something we've been building up gradually over the past 6 weeks so it wasn't a shock to him, the run before that was 20 mins. I'm resting him for a few days, hoping his tail gets better but does that mean I wont have my running buddy any more? He really loves it plus - could there be another cause? He is a very 'waggy' dog generally. Advice much appreciated!
