Anyone fed their dog(s) on this? I am looking into it for Earl. I have been doing large research into dog diets recently. The back of the latest YD mag has given me an incentive to have a look into Burns toy and small breed.
Earl was fed on it as a puppy and had no problems with it. We are also giving him a sprinkle of branflakes on meals to help with his anal glands - it was suggested by a friend with a dog who had a similar problem.
Advice on either topics would be much appreciated, and will help with my food research, and Earl's healthy diet.
Thanks in advance.

I do not like Burns. Its a very expensive bag of rice if you ask me.
Symply, the food you currently feed, is the same but a little cheaper I think.
If you are going to change foods then I would suggest that you suggest to your parents to look at some grain free foods. Personally, if I were to change food then I would change to something better, not something which is practically the same.
I'd look at foods like Eden, Applaws, Acana, Fishmongers, Simpsons premium etc.

As Bextull says, Burns is an expensive bag of rice. Some of those foods she lists are more expensive than Burns but Applaws, which has an RRP of £50 (for a 12.5Kg bag) can be bought for around £36. It is excellent food (see 'Which Dog Food' website for details) and, at this price, likely to be cheaper than Burns. In comparison, it's an absolute bargain!

I'm never sure what prices are like in the UK, but they are shockingly cheaper than over here! Applaws = €55 here!!!! Orijen = €90!!! I do love whichdogfood though! Brilliant site! BT, if you are looking for a similar food to what you currently feed but cheaper then have a look at Burgees Supadog Sensitive. Over here its much cheaper than burns and a little better too. I have to give it to Oscar while he is at the kennels in a few weeks time (the parents wouldn't order online for me - sadly ) ( I couldn't get anything better locally and it was that or Royal Canin and I'd rather not feed Oscar a food preserved with Cancer causing agents!)

Looking at Supadog on Which Dog Food for the first time, it seems that the Sensitive is the best of an exciting bunch! Some of their ingredients are positively scary in the other varieties! They even make Bakers look not too terrible!!!

At least he isn't getting the RC I suppose ( whichdogfood.co.uk/compare-dog-foods.php?comparison=foods&compare[]=0060&compare[]=0345 ), so I have to be greatful.

Yes, I have seen the thread and your comment.
I guess we all have personal thoughts to foods - the comments on the thread have been very helpful.
You know your dog the best.

CollieSlave; is my variety bad? I am not feeding all, I started with Burns puppy then moved to Symply adult, then added branflakes for Earl's anal glands, now thinking of moving to CSJ, bearing in mind Earl is an agility competitor, and the reviews on the CSJ website were positive, and their dogs soon sprang to life in the world of agility.... AND..... it made their dogs stools firmer!

I could easily feed my dog bakers and have him spring to life in the agility ring. If CSJ is so good for agility dogs and actually makes dogs 'spring to life in the world of agility' then perhaps I should try it. I wanted to do agility for so long, maybe all I needed was some CSJ.......

bextull; these were comments from people who PURCHASED CSJ and had experience feeding it to their dogs, not the actual CSJ company. OF COURSE, they wouldn't put negative reviews on THEIR OWN website! These comments are from typical members of the public with experience of CSJ.

I agree with you. I'd hate to think however, if there were quite a few bad comments, but only the positives were shown, no negatives, and the food was actually a bad brand. Then, because other people only saw the good comments, went and bought this bad food for their dogs and fed it to them, thinking that it was an amazing food to feed! You see where I'm coming from?
