I currently give Yarna grain free food from Applaws and Lillys Kitchen. She especially likes the Applaws tuna and salmon in jelly pouches, although I have read that too much tuna is not good for cats as it is not nutritionally complete. I give her tuna every other day. She also eats the chicken and lamb in jelly, although she is less keen on it. It does seem to be a bit dry and stringy.
So, I would be interested in recommendations for similar premium food to try her with. It needs to be rich in high quality protein (no mechanically recovered 'meat'), and free from grain and soya.

@cs2015 not sure what do advice as ours mainy eat the standard supermarket wet foods such as Felix, Whiskas, Sheba, also Pets at Home Seriously Good (tuna & chicken varieties) . We do also give Royal Canin pouches, 2 of the 3 cats also have dried (Royal Canin or James WellBeloved). We do occasionally give Applaws wet (tins or pouches) but these are only complimentary foods so are not guarenteed to have everything that a cat needs. This could just because they have been analysed to the necessary standards to state they are complete or because they actually aren't complete. gypsy, I'd not heard of this brand sounds interesting although not paticularly cheap but may be better quality & need less. How much do you feed? I see it says 1-2 trays for an average 3.5 Kg cat so not really clear. I was thinking in particular for our Osiris (5Kg) as he only eats wet & can be fussy.

The standard supermarket wet foods are dreadfully poor nutritionally. They tend to use a lot of mechanically recovered meat from skin, gristle and other largely inedible components of animal carcasses. They also add a lot of grain (or other carbohydrates) and soya protein, both of which cats find very difficult to digest and which puts a lot of strain on their kidneys. You are right about the Applaws wet being complimentary. I also give Yarna the Lillys Kitchen trays and Applaws dried food, which are complete foods.

I was able to get a couple of samples of Forthglade from the manufacturers, but unfortunately Yarna was not impressed ! It looked and smelt fine, but she was reluctant to eat it. Even adding extra water and chopping it up (which usually works for pate type foods) didn't help. I have now also tried her with Wellness Duos, and she loves it - eating a whole tub in one go.
