Hi again everyone, So sorry to have been absent (again) with the tale of Lettie's settling-in still to be told. I haven't forgotten, but am having some health problems that I HOPE will soon be sorted. When Lucy died last September, and I went to our favourite place afterwards, I found a nice big smooth stone on the beach there and had it engraved by a stonemason nearby. When it was done I thought a lot about my other lovely departed dogs and so found stones for them as well. I thought you would like to see them in the rockery in my front garden where I am reminded of my beautiful girls and one boy every day. If it doesn't come up, can somebody help, pleeeese!

Hi maryangela, nice to see you back on the forum - I hope that you are feeling better soon and that Lettie has settled in well. I love the idea of you collecting stones and then having them engraved as a loving keepsake of your departed dogs. I can't help with the link to see the photos but someone on the forum will be on soon and will help you sort it out.

Oh that is a lovely way to commemorate your previous dogs maryangela I nearly wrote "remember" instead of "commemorate", but you don't need anthing special to remember them as they will always be with you in your heart & memories but a great commemoration of their life & the love that they gave you is ideal. Also Rover, Vida & Ellie can thank Lucy for generating such a lovely idea Looking forwaard to hearing more of Lettie when you are able to tell us, I hope your health issues are soon resolved.

Oh WOW what a lovely way to do that it looks sooo stunning. when I lost my gorgeous boy Tobi ( he used to carry around a pebble ) my O.H turned it into a key chain but was too heavy to actually use. Can I post a pic on here of it ? Don't want to intrude on your thread thou xx ***SIGH *** that is so lovely maryangela x

Ah thankyou everyone - glad you like it. I did use the right link, Scallywag, but I highlighted it manually, then copied and pasted instead of doing 'copy link', so I must have missed most of it. You gave me the clue when you said that text seemed to be missing.
PLEASE DO show us your key ring. How about turning the thread into one for showing photos of any other special ways folk have chosen to commemorate their beloved pets?
Rover is buried on the highest point of the moors here, while the others were cremated and I keep their caskets at home. But the pebbles are much more satisfactory for me, for they make me think of each one of them running on wide sandy beaches, free and full of life and joy as only dogs can be.

How beautiful is that, and such a lovely idea. We just have our old dog Jessie's ashes sat on the book shelf below a frame with three photos of her in. Nothing anywhere near as imaginative as your memoriam garden. I hope your health issues get resolved, and your feeling better soon.

Hi this is the black stone he used to cart about its about 2" x 1 3/4" nothing as grand as your big rocks, but it was so thoughtful of my O.H to get it turned into a key chain. we lost Tobi in January 2008

Oh that is beautiful, and has made me cry, as it is also so sad. It was very imaginative of your OH to and so appropriate to have Tobi leave his beloved stone to you when he could no longer have it for himself. I have Lucy's legacy, too - a long-bodied, long-nosed soft toy she used to carry around in the house to the very end. Oh pass the tissues, someone๐ง.
Thank you for good health wishes. Unfortunately I was admitted into hospital last night, all drama! Letie is OK, though, as No. 1 son is staying in my home with her so that her routine won't be thrown. She loves him to bits, 'cos he stuffs her with treats.

That's a good idea chantel, hadn't thought of that I still have Chloe's (from 2008) & Penny's (this year) so may do something similar with them.
