I received this email today from Rachel:-
Thanks for sending me some of the posts from the forum.
Tell everyone, thank you for their kind comments and advice it's really being appreciate.
One thing I will say, is thank goodness I've got insurance. If anyone hasn't got their pet insured, please do!!! you never know what could happen.
I can tell you that Iona got home on Wednesday night with the provisional discharge, however she was back in for a temperature check yesterday morning which is still higher than normal. But she was back home again right afterwards.
She got two sets of antibiotics to take twice a day. Clavaseptin and Antirobe. she refuses to take it in food or squirty cream so we've had to give it to her by holding her and placing it in her mouth. (not ideal as she doesn't like it that way) but needs must.
Biopsies should be back on Monday, so she's not to go back to our vets until then. (hurrah) At that appointment she'll have her temperature checked etc, and a decision will be made regarding the Elizabethan collar.
She's eating, but only small amounts and that's to be expected. Still no bowel movement though. If she's not had one by then I'll speak to them about it.
Ailsa is still hissing now and then, but it's getting less. I'm stroking Iona and letting Ailsa sniff and stroking her. They're eating out of the same bowls as well now.
Our vet said that any problems over the weekend, we've to call the emergency vet again otherwise they'll see her on Monday night.
Best wishes to all,
Rachel x
