So I just tried to upload some photos from flickr by copying the URL into the create image box but nothing came up when I created the thread even tho it said the images were there on the BBcode.
Does anyone know why this is and uses flickr?
I've tried using photobucket but got annoyed with it quickly as it took ages to upload anything

Hi boxerluver30 there's a help index we've created to some useful tips yourpetforums.co.uk/thread/837/help-faq-indexOne of those is for uploading photos from flickr. It might be a bit old as Flickr & other hosting sites keep changing their design but the principle works. We're more than happy for issues to be pointed out & try & update the tips (hence why there's an index so that we can just alter the links easily once we've got a correct (& understandable) tip  ) Don't hesitate to say we've got it wrong (or even right ) as its so easy to think it the words work when you know what should happen, not always the case when you haven't done it before! However I'm a Flickr user so hopefully can help if you need anything further. Perhaps we can write the latest version of the tip from your experiences.  |

Just tried again to upload some photos but its still not bloody working  . I dont understand what i'm doing wrong either. I'm clicking share on the image on flickr and copying the image url into the insert image box but nothing shows up, the post is blank  . |

Once you have copied the url come back on here start a post and try just pasting it on, see that works x |

If you do use flickr, then the correct thing to use when upload is this-  Capture by T1NGLER, on Flickr the MORE WAYS THE SHARE tab click it then click the GRAB THE HTML/BBCODE tab Then click in the box that opens then copy and paste the elongated link that appears in to the forum post you are on.

No scallywag it's different now. There is a share icon at the bottom when the photo is clicked on and I'm copying the url that shows up when the share button is clicked. I will try again once I can get on the laptop, on my phone at the moment. |

boxerluver30, It is similar just a slight difference in the way its presented. When you click on the share icon a box opens up with tabs for Share Embed Email BBCode Click on the last one (BBCode) & copy the whole string that's in the box below the tabs, should already be highlighted blue Then just paste it into your post wherever you want it. To start with, until you get used to posting photos, always use the Reply rather than Quick Reply option (unless using Create Thread that is ) & make sure you are on the BBCode code tab. Once the copied link code is pasated in the post click on the Preview tab & you should see you photo instead of the code. That way you can check its worked correctly. If you paste in the Preview tab its not a problem, just click on BBCode then click back on Preview . If you still have problems yell!! I'll try & grab some screenshots & create a new help tip in the next day or so & get you to check it out.

I have my profile settings set on BBCode automatically makes life easier , well done on the instruction update tonib Photo bucket is just as bad keep changing things |

Glad to see that you sorted it out boxerluver30. Did you know that in Flickr you can choose what size to get the link for, just try putting the various sizes links in a post & then view in the preview window to see which you prefer before actually posting them - its easy to delete the unwanted versions from the post before actually posting it Hope that made sense |

In other words... Bigger photos please  thats a good option tonib PB only offers reductions but having said that the photos are loaded up normal size anyways |
