Hello my names Charlie

I have recently had my female bengal Tazzie swabbed for pk deficiency and received the results on 1/4 that she is Homozygous which is positive for pk deficiency.
Ive been searching the internet high and low for information and I haven't found much at all there doesn't seem to be much about the subject.
I have spoken to my local breeder and she told us that she will only have a life expectancy of 10 months and my vet also confirmed this but today i found online she could live a full healthy life showing no signs.
Does anyone have any more information on whats going to happen/when?

I'd not heard of this genetic issue before so had a look around. I found a couple of articles which seem to be more hopeful but it also depends on when/how badly Tazzie develops anaemia, so it appears that there are no guarantees of any particular short or long life-span, it seems to be in the luck of the gods.

As you had the test done were you intending to breed from her? From what I've read its still possible but the PKD status of who she is mated with should be checked & subsequent testing of the kittens should be done. I'm assuming you have informed Tazzie's breeder of the test results & they will be checking their bloodlines or had they advised you of the risk & hence the test, I don't know what is the minimum age for testing.

I wish I could help more & I will have a word with a more experienced cat owner (they also have a Bengal) & will see if they have any further information.

Welcome to the forum charliebowman - what awful news to have been given. From what you have read online it seems that it is possible that Tazzie can live a longer life than you have otherwise been told but it's all down to luck. I really hope that you can find out a more positive outcome. Keep us informed.
