Well Freddy is booked in at the vets in the morning for neutering. I know it is a common procedure but I still feel a little worried especially because he is still very young.but I'm sure he will be fine. He can't have anything to eat after 10pm tonight so that won't go down very well in the morning) he normally wakes up on the dot at 6:15 am screaming for his breakfast (bless him)
I'm sure riley will keep me busy tomorrow.although Riley will probably be fretting as well. He is a right mother hen with little freddy.

Aww bless him - you will feel so mean not being able to give him any food. He will be okay but you will worry yourself silly while he's at the vets - we all do it!

I echo lotosfcats, chantel. It'll be interesting to see Riley's reaction to Freddy when he comes home as he'll smell quite different (vet & anaesthetic)

Arrrr bless I dropped freddy off at the vets this morning but poor freddy pooped in his carrier whilst travelling to the vets, I think he was just scared so he had to have a wash down by the nurse when we arrived.the nurse said she would ring me around 2pm all been well and arrange a time to collect him.I know one thing for sure he will be starving hungry.

Yeah, I think it's the NOT being allowed any breakfast that bugs them the most....until they wake up two stones lighter and realise what's happened! Must admit I was a nervous wreck when Lily was in to be spayed in September last year I had to work as well so left LOADS of instructions for Neil to tell the nurse when he took her in I finished work at 1pm and Neil picked me up and said the vets had rang at midday and Lily had had her op and was just waking up and was fine.....I just wanted to go right round there and then and hug my baby to me and never let her out of my sight again Even though I always get every animal neutered and KNOW it's a routine operation that the vets could probably do blindfold I think I'm becoming more of a fussy old hen as I get older Sure Riley will be glad to see his buddy back home....even if he does smell a tad weird At least, being a dog, he should be better at accepting him back than a cat....they're often little bu**ers when any of their housemates come home smelling like the vets! ((((((BIG HUGS))))))

Thanx guys I spoke to the nurse at midday and she said freddy was fine and was just coming around, she was going to give him something to eat which I would think he will be famished by now.I'm going to collect him at 3:30 and have a chat to the nurse regarding his after care.this last hour is dragging so much.I know it sounds daft but freddy hasn't been with us that long but the house just dosen't seem the same with him not here, even riley is mooching about. Roll on 3:30.

Just a little update on freddy well he is back home now and he is fine.Riley went crazy when I brought freddy in the front door in his carrier bless him.he is doing a lot of sniffing at freddy especially his back end and sniffing freddy's bed.the nurse said that the main thing is freddy would be quite greedy after his GA but to only give him small quantities but often. She gave me some food to give him today and tonight.the nurse said to try and keep him a little calmer tonight although that maybe a little difficult with a 5 month old kitten.

Yeah, it's amazing just HOW noticeable a gap there is in the house when the cat ain't there It's so weird because it's not like cats are noisy bumbling huge beasties like, say, a Wolfhound or St Bernard would be You would think you'd not notice their absence at all but you do

Freddy is fine today and I actually did get a sleep in until 7am this morning.but because he is normally screaming for his breakfast at 6:15 on the dot I felt I had to check on him. But he was still sleeping probably sleeping off the G A. He then got up and had his breakfast then snuggled down on my knee and had another little nap.He is such a loveable little cat.I'm just glad he is ok.

Well I was up before freddy again this morning which is very unusual not sure if it is the GA or that it is a little bit darker in the morning so he's not waking has early. He seems fine had his breakfast this morning and his poop seems to be back to normal, thought that might be down to the GA upsetting his tummy. He is now snuggled up with his furry big bro.
