Thanks Tonib.Sindy is back to eating again and seems to be getting back to her normal self and she as been off the Metacam for 1 week now but i am taking her back to the vets next week to get her eyes checked. I am still quite worried as i have noticed Sindy's eyes look quite cloudy i did mention this to the vet at the time but he didn't seem concerned about it but her eyes have not returned to normal.she is fine other than that. she isn't bumping in to anything but i'm worried that she may be loosing her sight):
I'm sure Riley knows their isn't something quite right with her as he is following her all over.

Just returned from the vets and my fears have been confirmed Sindy is completely blind.Ihad a feeling that she may have lost her sight but i was hoping that she had a little vision.Whilst Sindy was unwell i noticed that her eyes were cloudy but she could see me at that point.when we took her back to the vets the last time the vet said that it was due to the virus and didn't seem too concerned but i kept saying to my hubby her eyes just did not look right and over the weekend she started bumping into things and at that point i knew she had lost her sight. she as been walking very slow and listening to my voice, and she as been very clingy with me. I'm now thinking she didn't have a virus and that her sight was not good and this could have scared her and she just took herself off to her igloo and wanted to be left alone. But she is back to her normal self eating and doing her normal things and she seems to be finding her way around, coming up and down stairs no problems she just takes her time. The vet wonders if her lenses in her eyes may have dropped forward but thinks it maybe a nerve problem.it was a different vet and he agrees with me that loosing her sight really knocked her duck off and that was the problem not the virus. also i have noticed sindy is drinking quite a lot and weeing much more so i told the vet and i have left her their for bloods to check for diabetes and kidney problems.I'm just feeling so gutted that she as lost her sight so sudden with my late dog she lost her sight over time so could adapt easier,it is so upsetting to see her trying to find her way around and bumping into things.we are trying to keep things normal for her by not moving any furniture and she is finding her way around. I think Riley knows something is not right with her has he is normaly quite hiper with her but he is following her around and was fretting this morning when i put her in her carrier. I had to leave her at the vets for bloods as she wouldn't tolerate the needle:( i'm picking her up at 6pm.

Sorry that your suspicious about her eyesight have been confirmed but Sindy will soon learn her way around. Glad, but not surprised, that Riley is caring for her, animals seem to understand these things. Hope you get good news from the tests.

So very sorry to hear Sindy has suddenly lost her sight chantel, that's devastating news for you.No wonder she was acting strangely, she will have been confused and frightened.Yes,when pets normally lose their sight, its a gradual thing that they adapt too,so its very sad for Sindy. She will learn to cope though, and you are doing the right thing by not moving furniture around, and giving her more re assuring cuddles.Try to keep positive,or she will pick up on your sadness. We have all got our fingers crossed for good news from the vets tomorrow.

Poor Sindy - I think it is harder for you to cope with being her being blind - animals do adapt and get on with things. Good luck with her results - thinking of you.
