Hi all I have 2 beautiful Bengal boys from same litter who are 1yr old. They have massively different personality one very timid and other cheeky and outgoing. Both neutered. I would love to get a female Bengal kitten but wondered on the dynamics of this? Any advice would be welcomed please. New member Helen.

Hello and welcome to the forum. My advice would be to ask the Bengal breeding society or whatever name they go by. Or ask your previous breeder there advice. Good luck.

Welcome to the forum helens, hope you enjoy it here. The principle, I was told by a rescue was adding a female to males can work however this was in general. I've got a friend who has a male Bengal & a variety of other cats but having seen its behaviour I wouldn't necessarily say that would work although the cats (non-Bengal) that she has added since she got him are all female. He isn't a cat that socialises with the others & does get stressed easily but at the same time there aren't fights. He is the only one of her cats that is allowed out most of the time as well which eases the situation I think. I think cia's suggestion of speaking to the breeder is a good one but somethimes it just down to the individual cats. Good luck. Oh & we'd love to hear more of your cats - Bengals are lovely

Welcome to the forum Helen. Bengals are beautiful cats and I hope to see some photos of yours soon. I think it is just down to the individual cats whether they will accept a female Bengal or not. As you can see I have 7 cats.
My first cat was Bramble who is female and she was 6 months old when I introduced Kiba-Khan - they have never really got on together and just keep out of each other's way. I then had Kai Ruki 2 years later and it was like world war 3 - Kiba-Khan hated him for ages!! They are okay now and will sit together now and then. I then adopted pregnant stray Kali and kept 2 of her kittens, so that was 3 females extra. Kai Ruki has accepted them all but Kiba-Khan is a rather aloof cat with the others and Bramble has always been a loner. Toffee, my last adopted cat was a stray and is my only outdoor cat as my 2 boys won't accept him. He comes in and out of the house all day and sleeps in the cats' pen in the night. Even if your boys don't accept a female cat they will find their own way around it.
Hopefully you will be lucky and they will get on really well. When are you thinking of getting your new kitten?

Welcome helens Bengals are wonderful. I fostered a gorgeous girl who had sadly not had a great start in life but to see her personality come out was amazing. They are such a vocal and energetic breed! I have to agree with previous comments. Your best to ask the breeder you got your little boys from as she will have far more knowledge on the breed and will be able to advise
