I had 3 chickens and an adult cat. GC never really went near them to be honest. I then got my kitten rescue and she would go and watch them but if she felt brave and tried to get close they soon sorted her out. Chickens are NOT scared of a cat. My 3 soon would see off my cat and also the neighbors, have you seen how sharp their beaks are??

Welcome keybss to the forum. Hope you enjoy finding & then looking after & playing with a kitten. When you get one we'd love to hear all about him/her and how the chickens take to the kitten & vice versa. Sounds like from Gladys's post that it should be a real problem. Our cats do try & catch birds but the largest they've tried is a pigeon & that is always missed. As gladys says I would have thought grown chickens would be OK & look after themselves but I'd monitor the situation at first for the kittens safety If you have baby chickens then I'd make sure they were safe from the kitten initially.

Well keep us posted and don't forget to show us photos. I'm sure the kitten will grow up to respected the chickens and hopefully live happily together. Welcome to the forum by the way.
