That's partially digested kibble. Is he eating too fast? Could be a one time thing or could be an allergy, if he's still like that today just call the vets. If he's been sick a lot, he might need some fluids especially if he's only eating dry food.

I might be inclined to give the vets a ring to see if it could be a reaction to the vaccination or the pain-killer, @msrteriyaki Before Zizou was being sick occasionally now it seems to be whatever he eats which may mean that this is a different problem causing the vomiting. He could be a cat that has a sensitive stomach particularly to stress (new home, vaccinations, pain etc.). We've got one like that that & hers results mainly in diarrhoea but she seems to have been OK now for the last year. We've had Lexie 3 years now & she came to us around 2.5 years old directly from her previous home. Once we got the old vets records we found she'd had similar problems as a kitten (rescued) but we had her on Hills Z/D (& had to not leave the others dried out) until the diarrhoea stopped & then it was James WellBeloved & reverting back to the Hills if she had any recurrence - this was the same treatment she'd had through her previous life & it worked. We're still careful what we give her to eat but she seems to cope with most things now & will happily steal with no reaction the others food We also had her on zyklene tablets (to reduce her stress levels both for her stomach & her behaviour with the other 3 cats. These were the last to be stopped. Hope you can find the cause & get it stopped soon.

Thank you all, he's home now after an anti-sickness jab and we've been given some wet food especially for sensitive stomachs which should last until his stomach is better. I think I will go buy some Hills or Royal Canin sensitive dry food.

mrsteriyaki, Hope the jab does the trick along with the wet food. Did the vets say what they thought had triggered it?

Yeah, the vet thinks that the vaccination triggered it - perhaps an under lying bug as the immune system is affected (hope that makes sense). Will ease him onto Hills 'sensitive stomach' when this wet food runs out.

Mmmmm Chilli occasionally wolfs her food down fast and brings it back up pronto (or soon after!)....usually UNDER my bed It's never as 'runny' as that in the pic though. Perhaps the sensitive food isn't quite right for him? My friend Linda who runs a cat charity always used to use Royal Canin Exigent as she found even old cats with dicky tummies could keep it down. It's not the cheapest on the market - really annoys me that companies often don't do tiny sample bags - though so perhaps try seeing the vet first and see what they suggest. In the past when I've had my cats vaccinated I've noticed that they CAN be quiet and sleepy for a few hours afterwards. Lily wasn't affected at all when she had hers but Chilli was zonked out for the rest of the day I would possibly make another appointment at the vets and tell them your concerns and show them the photo or, better still, take a sample of the vomit in www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/rc-edlp/royal-canin-adult-complete-exigent-cat-food-2kg?pageSize=45 (((HUGS))) ~ I'm sure it's nothing too bad and just a change of diet or him wolfing his food too fast etc

Aaaah just read Page 2 of this thread Glad you took him back to the vets too and he had an idea what it could be Sure your wee man will be back to full greedy eating-anything health before much longer Don't let it put you off having his second injection done though.....it's FAR nastier if he caught flu or leukaemia

So far so good, we are now onto the dry food only and he seems to be doing well. Thank you for all the help!

Glad to hear he's doing well. The dried food will also be good for his teeth. We've got one cat who only has wet food & he is the one with the worst teeth & gums (they weren't good when we got him at 22 months old!) No way will he tolerate teeth cleaning but he also won't touch dried at all

Ah it's one thing after the next right now. The dry food seemed to have the same effect after a few days so he has half wet half dry now and he hasn't been sick yet. About an hour ago I noticed his eyes are really watering which he doesn't like, keeps shaking his head to get rid. I've a feeling he is reacting to the vaccination.. I hear tomorrow isn't a good day for vets so I guess we'll monitor and see Monday morning whether to take him. He seems to be eating, drinking and toileting okay. ?
