To you experienced Cat owners, I just got the scare of my life, I just went into our laundry room, the door is open, this is where my computer is and I work from home. Well there was a cat, I had never seen this one before, we are troubled with lots of cats coming into our garden and drives Beau up the wall LOL.
Now why would a cat come into here ? would it not have sensed there was a dog in the house ? Fortunately I managed to shew it out, before Beau entered, but he gave it one hell of a chase.

Who knows what goes through cats heads. I've had my oldest cat for 14 years and I still can't work her out?!?! A neighbors cat often comes in to our kitchen if the door is left open and we have One dog who wants to play with him (the cat doesn't like him) and two cats that don't like him in THEIR garden, he still comes in?!?

Sorry if it was a dumb question, but I was totally gob smacked, not having had a cat before, didn't know if this was a strange thing to happen. Maybe the cat lives with dogs eh ? LOL Thanks for response Gladys

It could be a stray looking for food or just an opportunist who doesn't mind dogs. The cat could be new to the area & just checking out the territory. Did it look well-fed?

Yes looked healthy, lovely looking cat too, all our usual visitors are mangy looking things, trouble is woman up the road just keeps breeding and breeding, several have been run over, it's a busy main road near by

We hardly have any cats around here but there is a black one Jake, who given the chance would be in. He is a lovely boy and so friendly and well fed by the look of him but I do know his owners are out to work all day so maybe he just wants some company. A while ago a while cat called round and she/he too would have easily come in. Cats are by nature very curious, Any open window or door and it is too much temptation for them. Hence the reason so many of them get trapped in garages and sheds etc. By the way scallywag, I am a cat addict I love them with a huge passion and whilst I don't mind dogs at all I have never been bothered about them, but your avatar, your dog is gorgeous. I just love his/her face!

Sounds like it might be new to the area then. Sad about the woman up the road's cat(s).

Must have been weird walking in to see a random cat Our garden is used as a cat crossroads of sorts, there are loads in our area thanks to our new furry tenant. Funny anecdote: one night we were out on the deck and Charlie and Morandi were with us,looking for scraps. Then a random black cat appears across from us, bigger and puffier than Charlie. The boys went to investigate and protect their territory and somewhere during the confrontation Morandi must have gotten confused as he then started to hit Charlie Charlie wasn't pleased and the other cat must not have had a clue what was happening.

Maybe it simply wanted to rest, I know from Frankie that cats love to sleep! Or perhaps was just hoping for some food
