Hi all,
Have any of you had dogs with infected nail beds? Just wondered what symptoms are usual!! Just been told mine has and I am trying to work out what I have missed so that I don't miss it in the future if it happens again!! Even now I would not have realized that she had infected nail beds!
Went in as she had skinned herself between her toes, vet unconcerned about that!!

Thanks Gladys My dog is always contrary!! That's the thing she has not showed classic signs so I was wondering if anyone had experienced it!! There is no swelling, no crusty, no change in her nails, no limping and to be honest hardly any licking! She has an infection where she has skinned her pad hence the vet visit however there are a couple of small nics which do have infection near her nails. She did hurt a nail a while back but not every nail on every toe!!

I doubt that caused anything. No signs of anything over the following weeks post injury and that was a while ago now (talking months). That would explain one toe/nail but not the other 15!! It is every single nail on all four feet (excluding dews) that vet has said is infected. I think it is possibly related to having to clean her feet up after getting oil on her feet from the local beach over last few weekends.

No, have to assume it was the oil and the cleaning her up post walk.

What oil, from the beach? I have to clean Coopers paws after walks because of his seasonal allergies, I have found P@H's hypoallergenic shampoo is really good at stopping the itchy feet and the paw chewing so it might be gentle enough for the girls paws??
