for the past few months ginge has been a lapcat.he has never been one in over 6 1/2 years we have had him.he wants on my knee all the time now and is sitting on me now keeping my legs warm.lol yesterday 2 cats were round our back but over the fence in the alley and ginge normally fights with them.but he just stared at them and didnt move, he didnt seem bothered. when i was in edinburgh he sulked until i came home and missed me.he is 13-14 years this year he must be mellowing with age

Maybe he is just getting older, and sort of softening as it happens? My nan's old cat did that too.

Heh Ginge man, Jac doesn't get that it's not age but wisdom - yo' buttering her up to get the chicken, a comfy lap and a warm bed at night. Yo' not bothering with joining in the gang fights cos yo' don't want to go to the VET. Yo' need to make some amendments to that manual of yours in the section on 'How to get....'.

It does sound like Ginge is mellowing..........then again, this is Ginge we are talking about - I think it is a cover! give him a few days and a bit of warm weather and it will be back to the old Ginge

It must be a ginger thing this year, Roman is also less aggressive, though still not a lapcat:) Nah, I've sorted out the local cats years ago, don't need to prove whose boss!!! As to a lapcat why constrict yourself to such a small space when there's king & superking beds to sprawl on . Got my servants trained to come & search me out for fuss, attention & food! Roman

Maybe it's the shock of having milder weather and some sunshine! I almost fainted when I saw the sun again!

Ruppee is changing too. When he first starting coming round ( I adopted him as a neighbourhood stray) he was quite feisty and I had to be very quick and sly about getting a stroke in; but now, he has started padding on my lap and sitting there for about half an hour. He can be very affectionate which is a nice relevelation. I think with him it's he's mellowing as a neutered tom as he's still only about 2-3 yeard old. Just enjoy it!

Don't believe it Jacs, he's luring you into a false sense of security - after all, this is Ginge we are talking about. He's the scariest cat I know, and my son's cat is the devil cat who put me in hospital for 3 days. Ginge makes him look like a kitty.
