Hi I'm John (SoupDragon), first time cat owner, and I want to introduce myself to the forum.
My Cat is a rescue called Jessie, aka 'Lady Pussington'. She was 12 years old when she was handed in to a local vet by some builders working on a building site in Surbiton. She was chipped but apparently her elderly owner had passed away and she was now homeless.
We had a shaky start, with several weeks of 'accidents' and lots and lots of duvet washing, plus some major allergy problems on my part. Three years later we're absolute best of friends and my allergy problems are a thing of the past.
She is one of the best things that ever happened to me, that's for sure.
Older cats are great rescues, no question. I wouldn't hesitate to take on any cat that needed help, young or old makes absolutely no difference.
John

Hi John, welcome to the forum. I too used to be allergic to cats (I'm asthmatic) and now I have 7! I certainly agree with you that cats are the best. Everyone should have a cat. It's great that you took on an older cat - many get overlooked when they are rescues. Would love to see photos of Jessie.

Welcome to the forum soupdragon. Poor Jesse losing her "servant" & being homeless. So glad you perservered with her & successfully took on the role of new servant. Cat's don't have owners they have servants I'm Toni with 4 rescue cats aged between 4 & 15. If you need any help with the forum don't hesitate to ask - we don't bite & we've all been new once
