Went back to the vets today after Osiris was starved overnight in case of x-rays as planned. Saw a 3rd vet! He agreed with the 2nd one who'd wondered if Osiris's normal confirmation was to have slightly larger lymph glands, especially as he'd had 4 days of antibiotics & Metacam & no sign of a limp since Monday. So the plan is to complete the course of antibiotics (7 days in all, so 2 more after today) half the Metacam dose & then reduce it further if no sign of problems. However he is allowed out to avoid him getting stir crazy or perhaps stir depressed might be a better phrase.
We discussed whether there maybe something that was triggered by his jump over the 6ft gate on to hard paving slabs so we're keeping the side gate open for the moment so that won't be an issue. Just a waiting game for the moment but suspect he'll be OK.
He was glad to be out and was surprising peaceful despite finding a neighbour's cat in his favourite spot in our front garden. We even had Roman, Lexie & Osiris in close proximity on the patio at one point without a hiss from him - not a usual occurrence. However by late afternoon he was feeling much more himself & hence annoyed at everyone for having been imprisoned so chased Penny, hissed & chased Lexie! Roman kept well clear
Penny wasn't happy & later, partly in protest & probably partly as Osiris was between her & a litter tray, started to use the sofa as a litter tray again however she was caught before she'd really started. She'd been doing so well no such problems for over a month - can't remember when exactly. I was going to remove the protection from the sofa this weekend - just as well I didn't!
Things will settle back down again soon.
