Thankyou Jess and Vonnie. Jess (I have got your name right haven't I?) we lost Mia to a very aggressive form of cancer, when the vet opened her up to do the operation she was just too poorly and he rang to say it was best if he left her 'asleep' forever. Xenia and Taylor are good friends, it took a few day for Taylor to like her but when she did they walked round as if they were glued to each others sides. Vonnie maybe it is hormones with Wispa having her kittens and missing Mia too, she needs her vaccinations but she is still lactating, the vet we asked wont vaccinate until she has stopped so she will be a little late, the vet said she should be separated now and not allowed to feed the kittens but we she really cries to go and feed them so we don't like to keep her away from them...what do the vets where you work feel on lactating queens? do all vets say they shouldn't be feeding their kittens at 9 weeks old?

Yeah, pregnent and lactating queens can't be vaccinated. Soon as she stops feeding she'll be ok though. I''ve not heard of any issues with continuing to feed milk, especially if Wispa is ok with it. I could always see what my vets think. x x

So some say yes and some say no so we will probably take her down soon and get her boosters.

Interesting that there are differing opinions but then comfort feeding after the kittens have been vaccinated is slightly different from pregnant & fully feeding.
