On Tuesday 6th May, I got a text from my mother in law telling me that her cat Bobby had been missing for 36 hours. Something he never did was stay out all night. I told my wife who then told me that she had seen a post on Facebook stating that a cat matching Bobby's description was run over and killed on the road where he lived.
Through phone calls to a local cat rescue centre (who we are majorly indebted to for their help) we found out someone witnessed it and the driver had phoned the SSPCA who told him to bury the the cat!!!
I subsequently found out the exact location of the accident, and Gill's dad went out and not a few feet away there was Bobby's collar lying by the side of the road.
We put posts up on Facebook hoping that someone knew some information on the car/driver etc... and posters asking for any help.
Last night, Friday 9th we got a call from the local cat rescue lady who has been helping us out to say the driver had come forward but was afraid there would be repercussions for his actions.
Gill's dad told the lady to reassure him that all they wanted was Bobby back home so they could lay him to rest beside William and Scrappy their other 2 fur babies.
They will get Bobby back today so they can do this.
R.I.P. Bobby son
Lucky and all our little furriends will welcome you over the Bridge.
