Hi everyone. I dont really come on any more as have lots going in in life now. On wedsnesday I finished work and found penny hiding under my bed panting dribbling and with a very broken limp tail. Rushed her straight to vets and they gave her 4 jabs in the back of neck to kill pain till the following morning when she was X rayd and given more treatment. She spent the entire day there. They said there may be a minir fracture but they cant see anything on x ray. What they did say was that she has an inner skelletal dislocation, and again mentioned that if when the bruising has gone she still cannot feel any sensation in the lower half of her tail it may be best to have it amputated. ? She is home now and been given a weeks worth of metacam. She has a follow up on saturday to see how she is getting on. The vets having shaved her tail? Paw and neck she is feeling very sorry for herself. She is walking around the house with no drama and jumping on windowsills with no problems. However, even when i gently squeeze the end of her tail she has no idea I am touching it. The bruising is very visable where they have shaved it and I just wanted to ask anyone if this has ever happened to their cats and what happened to them. I am extremely worried about her so any help or advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Kristina x

Arrr so sorry to hear about penny,i can imagine how anxious you are feeling, sorry i can't really give you any advice but when i was growing up and lived with my parents we had a white cat called Misty, she was knocked down by a car and she had to have her tail amputated, but she did fine you would never have known. Animals adapt really well much better than we do and i'm sure penny will be fine.
