I had to take Kiba-Khan to the vets today for a medication review, as I'm running out of his heart tablets. I was so worried about him peeing in his box as I know he hadn't had a wee since I got him in yesterday at 6pm - that's a long time to go without peeing! I know he hadn't been as when he does go in the house he misses the litter tray and pees all over the newspaper in the tray I stand the litter tray in. He positions himself in the litter tray, but when he pees it arches outwards, so if I see him I have to hold his bottom down into the litter tray. Luckily he didn't go - I'd put a puppy pad and a towel in his carrier just in case. Vet said his heart is fine. While I was there I asked for another course of steroids for Kobi as his skin is awful again. Met a nice Bengal cat called Spartacus in the waiting room. 2 people were allowed in the waiting room but still not allowed in with the vet.

Osiris normally goes outside but although litter trained when he needs to go indoors he heads to the litter tray but doesn't use it just goes on the litter mat next to the tray. Doesn't matter which tray or litter its always the litter mat, it's weird. Just as well I have a number of spare mats! I'm lucky the vets limit just 1 person per pet on the premises but they must wear a mask. If the owner is not prepared (or can't) then someone will collect the pet from outside. The number allowed in the waiting room varies between branches (size of waiting room limitations I suspect) but the owner is allowed in the consultation room with their pet. Glad to hear Kiba Khan's heart was OK & I hope the steroids relieve Kobi's skin.

Just wondering what kinda litter tray do u use ours is fully enclosed with a swing door Mine is a large open one. It might be worth me trying the cats with one with a swing door - surely he can't get that wrong. It would have to be a large one.

Well, I've heard it all now. I just had a phone call from the vets to cancel my appointment with Toffee for Tuesday for his booster. They said that they can't get any vaccinations delivered until after Christmas and to phone back in January! I said that Toffee's booster will be way overdue by then and the receptionist said there was nothing they could do about it. It would be Toffee, the only cat that goes out and about. I was also due to take Kai Ruki, Bramble and Kiba-Khan before Christmas, but would have dragged their's over a bit into January, as I know you can go over for 2 months plus. but, Toffee's will be way overdue. I wonder does that mean he then has to start all over with vaccinations as if he's never had any?

I wonder does that mean he then has to start all over with vaccinations as if he's never had any? How many years has he been having it ? Is there not another vet you can go to ? He's been having his vaccinations at the same vets since I adopted him when he was 2 years old, that's almost 10 years ago. There's no point in trying another vet, I know they are all full up with patients. When my son had his puppy he couldn't get him on the books of the vets surgery that is a 5 minute walk from his house, they said they were full because of all the people buying puppies during the first lockdown. I think spider, that it's either Brexit or the shortage of lorry drivers that's to blame. What if Toffee caught one of the diseases that he is usually vaccinated against and I decided to claim off his insurance policy? I don't think the company would pay out as his vaccinations wouldn't be up to date. Are the vets then liable as they have broken their contract in cancelling Toffee's appointment and not giving him his vaccination? It would be worse for any dogs as owners will be taking a risk when they take their dog out for a walk.

I don't think there's any local cats around that Toffee fights with now that Spot the cat has gone. Toffee doesn't fight with Tay if he comes across him. I think they have different time slots anyhow.
