I had batman he vanished as a kitten and me being me I assumed the worst had happened 3 years later he as a lovely big cat wandered back to the back of the pub now it's not a cat that looks like him he knew me he knew where he was going to get food and his markings and just gotten bigger the same goes for she shy I would say don't give up in him he just yet cats are amazing That gives me hope spider. I know Tay's not my cat to be worrying about, but I love that little boy. I'll continue to put the food out but maybe reduce it a bit as it gets wasted. I won't give it to the other cats as I can sometimes see slug slime on it. Lovely that Batman and Shy hadn't forgotten you after all that time.

I think Tay may have visited in the night. The chicken had gone and most of the cat food. I didn't put his favourite cat food out, I put a different variety so perhaps it wasn't to his liking. - I am confident that it was him. I don't think we have any other cats wandering about in the neighbourhood now. Fingers crossed he comes again tonight.

I forgot to tell you all what happened with Kai Ruki last week. I was sat watching TV with my daughter and we heard a strange miaow a couple of times. We looked around and it was coming from the armchair in the corner of the room. This armchair used to be placed across the corner but the cats kept hiding behind it and it was difficult to get them out without moving lots of things, so we placed it against the 2 walls of the corner. When we investigated we found Kai Ruki stuck behind the armchair about halfway down - we've no idea how he got there as there just isn't any room to squeeze behind it. He couldn't move at all. I know he's thin but God knows how he did it. We had to move everything out and when we started to pull the armchair forward we managed to reach down the back and pull him up. The mind boggles! I expect this brings back memories of Lexie tonib, although that was much more serious.

Tay came to visit last night at 10.30pm. I watched him eat his food and then gave him some extra chicken. I didn't stay outside with him as it was raining so I watched from the doorway. When he went I went upstairs to look out of the window to see which direction he went in and it was across the road which leads to the lane at the back of the houses where I saw him before. So pleased now I know he is okay.

For those of you who remember Andrena - I had an email from Andrena today ( puddycats)and I thought I'd let you know that she is okay. However, her 2 lovely cats, Calypso and Oliver Twist were on the recalled cat food Applaws which has been in the news recently and is resposible for poisoning lots of cats. She has to wait up to 120 days for any symptoms to show and she's on day 55! How worrying for her. Here are her 2 beautiful cats - isn't it nice to see them again? , on Flickr

It's good to know that Andrea is well. I hope that as the gorgeous Calypso and Oliver Twist are now on day 155 it means they are in the clear. Fingers crossed.

I'm having problems with Kai Ruki's health and he will have to go to the vet. He is overgrooming non stop, so much that his sides are almost bald! I have been spraying Leucillen on him and also putting Anicura gel on him. Around his mouth is dirty and raw where he's been licking the mesh of the cat pen. I have an appointment for Kobi on Friday for his booster and check up, which he needs as his ears are a problem, but poor Kai Ruki really needs an injection to stop him itching. I did flea treatment just over 2 weeks ago but I don't think it worked! I did his again last night and I will do all the others tonight. I had this problem with him last year and he was also coughing up bits of mucous. Of course at the time we couldn't go in with the cat to the vet. I explained that Kai Ruki always overgrooms. When the vet came back out with him he said that he's got fleas (he'd been treated) and that's why he's overgrooming. He didn't give him an injection and said nothing about his coughing up mucous. I hate that vet and will never take a cat to see him again (he's a locum).

Poor Kai Ruki, I hope you can get him in to see the vet lotsofcats. I remember that our Bandit use to suffer from a similar thing each year. Over grooming, itching and she also had scabs on her back at the base for her tail. The only thing that helped was a steroid injection.

I have read somewhere over grooming is a stress thing but if nothing has changed in his world he shouldn't be stressed He's just always been very highly strung spider. He never walks anywhere, he half runs! When he was a kitten he had a condition called pica; it's when cats eat things they shouldn't, such as fluff, paper, leaves etc. I had to cover the phone wires as he chewed on them. I had my work cut out in the Autumn when leaves kept blowing into the cat pen - I had to pick all of them up. Today he is looking a bit better, especially his mouth, so I think the Anicura gel is working. I bought it because it has such wonderful reviews. I also bought the dog version for Kobi. I did flea treatment for all the cats and Kobi again this week as the last lot I did just over a fortnight ago didn't work. I chucked out all of the cats bedding in the cat pen. I didn't think the dog had any fleas as I hadn't seen one on him. there are usually easy to spot as he is shorthaired. Hubby then saw one and got the flea comb out and Kobi had a huge amount on his back by his tail!! Hubby said he'd never seen so many.
