Tay is so funny. I didn't see him for a whole week but he was coming for the food. I then saw him Thursday night and last night. Last night he was sat in Toffee's veranda eating the food at 10.30pm. I put the outside light on and got some kibble and some more chicken for him and went outside and he'd gone! I looked around the side of the house and spotted him on his way - I called but he didn't come back. I love you too Tay! When I saw him on Thursday I suspect he's gone home again as he's cleaner and not starving. All I can do is put some food out every night and he knows he can rely on me if he leaves home again. I can tell when he's home again as he eats mostly just the chicken I put out. If he's very hungry he licks the dish clean.

Its weird lotsofcats that Tay leaves home as it appears he is well cared for there as he's clean & fed.

I was speaking to my neighbour yesterday and she said her daughter has a kitten. This is the daughter who has naughty dog Tizzy who hates my neighbour's cat and Kobi! Well, my neighbour's daughter is a driver and she went to an industrial estate and heard a kitten crying. She was near one of the machines and there was no sign of any other kittens and no sign of her mother. My neighbour's daughter took her to the vet and they checked her over and said she was very hungry, covered in fleas and only about 4 weeks old. My neighbour didn't want her so she was taken home and Tizzy loves her! The kitten is the boss. She is a very pretty calico cat and has been named Mewp - a very unusual name, but the machine she was found by is a MEWP, which stands for Mechanical Elevated Work Platform. I'll have to get my neighbour to send a photo to me.

A calico - of course she's boss! How good of your neighbour's daughter in taking the kitten to the vet. At 4 weeks do they still need frequent feeding or have they moved to solids? Do you get the impression I don't know much about kittens

Do you get the impression I don't know much about kittens At 4 weeks they would normally be on cat food but being a feral kitten what would she have eaten? Ideally she should still feed from mum for another 2/3 weeks. I don't think she had any problems with her eating. Forgot to say, she looks like trouble, again it's a calico thing.

Sometimes being wild kids some of the mums are amazing the way they can keep a great supply of food these are very intelligent creatures especially these times it's a land of full and plenty but u have to hunt for it unlike mine of u sort and rests all day u know pat's going to bring food that's ok but mums that don't have a pat to bring food are wonderful I'm glad neighbour rescued the littleun sounds like she has a good home I also didn't know calico are bosses but IV one at the estate a pure boss she beats up Harry he is a big cat and now he runs when she is about they all run when they see her about i always thought it was like I was hers and she has to be fed first get her head rubbed first twas all her and when she was sorted the rest could gather and She doesn't mind

Yes, calicos are the boss. They get called 'naughty torties'. I love torties so much.

Toffee is a cheeky so and so. He walked into the house, straight to the litter tray in the living room, did a big poo and then went back out!

I have to rush over to him and push his bottom down into the tray otherwise there's a huge puddle. I have to place the litter tray on lots of newspaper and in a huge shallow tray!

Normally Roman is good but just the odd occasion he gets close to the edge & partial misses occur. This was a covered litter tray so he must have been faced into it - a first!

What do you think I should do? As you know, I leave food out every night for Tay and now and again it doesn't get touched but then he turns up. Sometimes the food is eaten but I don't see him. I've left food out and it's been untouched for 6 days running. Should I continue to leave some? I'm worried about him as he's never left it this long - 2 days without food has been the longest.
