The difference between wasp & bee sting treatments, a Reckitt's blue bag scallywag was alkaline which helped to neutralise the acidity of a wasp sting Unfortunately by the time I got stung my mum now longer used them. Oddly the Reckitt's company started in Hull (where I was born) but my first knowledge of it was 8/9 years later (we left Hull when I was 8 months old) when we moved to Kendal & we visited the Lake District most weekends. I remember regularly seeing the Reckitt's blue building in BackBarrow, on the banks of the river which flows out of Lake Windermere. It was very distinctive as it was always blue stained (by dust) as were other buildings around. Apparently in the 1920's the company had bought the ultramarine factory there to supply their needs. It was still there when I went to Lancaster university & watched the canoeing club on that river! It was surprising how memory is affected by age. I'd turned down the opportunity to join in as I was a bit concerned about white water canoeing over the considerable drop of the salmon leap on the river I remembered from my time in Kendal. I really should have joined in, it really wasn't that high & I could have coped with it with the canoeing experience I'd had from my outdoor pursuits times prior to university! Since I moved back north again many years later I found that the factory had ceased production & was now a hotel!

You are right scallywag, I have never even heard of them! Funnily enough, the first time my brother got stung by a wasp it was on the backside! We were in the Lakes and he'd sat on it without realising. He screamed like a bansheee.

Took Kobi to the vet this morning for his booster. He couldn't have it when I took him in July as he was given steroids to stop his itching and ear drops. This time he's had more ear drops and ear cleaner ( his ears will not get better) and more steroid tablets, which I can't give to him for a week. £109! I thought the £72 last visit was expensive - I was actually hoping I'd paid for his booster in the first visit! I bought an Adaptil Transport spray which should help keep Kobi calm in the car - really? Has anyone had any success with it?

https://www.instagram.com/p/CEPDJyRBvhT We went on an adventure today. Explored somewhere we'd never been before in our local area, and we'll definitely go back. It's only 20 minutes away yet I'd never heard of it until last night.

Oh, they did. It was just by chance that someone mentioned it in a spaniel group on Facebook and I thought I'd check it out. Lurking in groups has its uses lol.
