Hi iloveallpets, Generally, hamsters live on average for around 3 years - so it could be that your hamster is ageing and just needs a little more nap-time! If you want to find out more about general hamster care, you can visit our hamster care page here - www.yourpet.tv/Hamster-care/ Thanks, Your Pet

If he's from a pet shop, then he's doing very well to be living that long, pet shop hamsters tend to live between 2 and 2 and a half years. Breeder hamsters often live to 3. Sleeping more is normal, and nothing to worry about. Make sure there's not too many difficult objects in his cage to manouver around and make sure he has plenty warm bedding

These I'm sure are just signs of getting old. I think that as long as he is healthy and has lots of love and care he will keep going for a while yet!

I've had shop bought hamsters who have lived longer than 3, he's probably just maturing!

I had two Syrian hamsters that both lived to about two and a half. If you're worried (based on this and your other post), go to the vets or maybe phone them up. Syrian hamsters can live 2-3 years but sometimes more, I think it depends on health, diet, lifestyle etc.
