Hamster question about teeth?

A white tooth in a hamster means the tooth is dying/dead, as hamsters teeth are naturally yellow (like in humans, the equivalent would be a black rotten tooth). A white tooth usually falls out on it's own though, and when it does, feed softer foods until its grown back (although sometimes it never does grow back).

If it doesn't fall out naturally, it can become infected so it would be best for a vet to remove it.

Some say white teeth are caused by vitamin deficiancies, but I've personally never seen anything to support that. I think its just down to bad breeding (especially common in hamsters from pet shops).
