Such a very sad story, and a very hard lesson that other people are not as honest or caring as you are.A puppy steals your heart in minutes. We too lost a puppy some years ago,his was a problem passed down from the mother, which the vet said he had not known of it incubating for so long. The pup was super friendly,a real joy,and had only just finished his vaccinations.Sam was very sick over 3or4 days, and was operated on,and placed on a drip, but died at 4a.m. on the New Years Day at home.We had guests staying, and we were in pieces.until we found out the facts,it was like a horrible shadow hanging over us,as we just couldn't understand it,the vet told us another pup from the litter had died too.I was angry afterwards,as I thought the pups mother should be spayed in case the same thing happened again, causing more suffering to a litter, and more heartbreak for other owners.

There was a similar story to this on the old forum. The additional horrible aspect of this is that the family cannot have a dog in the house for so long afterwards - and if they sell the house, new occupants may take a dog in unaware of the potential danger in the garden (virus survives for up to 10 years).
I agree with the article that the law needs to be tighten up on these puppy farms. Have read somewhere that these puppy farmers offload unwanted puppies to the rescue centres so, also think rescue centres need to have more support to research the background of dogs handed into them.
Yes, puppies do tug at your heartstrings in minutes.

I read this yesterday. Such a heartbreaking story, but such an important one to be shared and raise awareness. Dudley looked like such a cheeky little thing, it must have been awful for his owners.

Heart aching story, really got to me, tears were filled in my eyes! But it is unfortunately the sad truth which is why I would never buy off the internet!!! I would rather find website with the kennel club or from mags or something, but designer dogs are difficult to find from responsible breeders which its the sad truth!
Thankyou for sharing with us!! x

It's such a sad story ..poor puppy. I hope it raises awareness to more people not to buy puppies from websites, but something needs to be done about puppy breeders like that man in the story because idiotic people like that really annoy me.

I think it is a terrible idea to buy puppies/dogs off the Internet. If you find a breeder online, then meet the mum, litter, pup you choose, etc, then that is not as bad. But on the whole,
