If I use the BBcode/IMG links from Flickr or Photobucket then I only see the code not the photo in the BBcode tab but when I go to the Preview tab I do see the photo. Ok now I've confused everyone - sorry. Yep . Cause your answer above has nothing to do with my question regarding the FORUM settings you are set at,I was not asking what everyone is using on flicker etc

Curios to know how you have set up your settings, and if this could be confusing you when it comes to posting photo's and what you expect to see when you do post a photo ! ? Ah scallywag, think I've now understood what you intended. Took it as (red my thinking, blue where I think the difference is):- answer required - which you did want explanation of why the info required answer required - however I think you meant that as part of the explanation of why you wanted it!!! Hope that explains my answer & possibly others.

The default setting was set at preview which I thought meant I should see a preview - obviously my logic was flawed!! In the end I just posted the pic without seeing what I posted.

I'm not bothered about seeing the pic I know what it looks like - now I know it's posted in the thread when I see the 'writing'. I'm happy with the setting I have - I want it to be as quick as possible - I think it's quite time consuming enough having to upload the photo from the camera into PC then upload it again to a Photo site and then again into a thread.

I see what you mean, however I like confirming the image on Preview to make sure the link to the photo was correct and working!!
