Curios to know how you have set up your settings, and if this could be confusing you when it comes to posting photo's and what you expect to see when you do post a photo ! ?

Mine is set to preview but I'm always flicking between the two when inserting images and what-not I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to writing BBCode/HTML etc.

Always BBCode because then I can copy it before I post, incase the forum freezes and I lose what I typed.

Not sure what you mean by copy so I am learning now ( ah wait a min you use Flicker don't you Sarah, I am not ofey with flicker ). If you set it so the BBCode as being the default, when you paste your photo link onto the forum and only see the words, you can then click on the preview button bottom left next to the preview, and you will then see your photo that you are about to post Ajax how was yours set cause you expected to be able to see your photo before actually creating your post. Did you know about toggling between the 2 tabs bottom left of the screen ? x

Yes, that's what I like, the words. Quite often I'll spend 15 minutes putting photos into a forum post, and then I click post and the forum freezes. So if I leave it as the words, then I can copy it before I post, meaning if the forum freezes or crashes, I can start again by just posting the words. You can't copy the pictures if they are on preview.

BUT if you have it set as Preview SarahHound you still get the words only, you will only see the photo if you then click on the BBCode ( which again all you will see is the words,) it's not until you then toggle back again onto preview that you get to see the photo yourself hence 2 clicks to get to see your photo instead of 1 and that is ONLY if you do reclick back on Preview before creating the post Ha ha I bet people are reading this and scratching their heads as to what the hell we are on about

It doesn't matter to me even though I'm set to preview, coz I just use quick reply most of the time then click through to reply if i want to check what it looks like before posting. I very rarely use the BBCode.

i will have to check next time i post a pic i cant rem what settings are but i dont have any problem with pics using photobucket I think this thread is being miss understood, you can check by either going into your profile and settings or glance down right now and look at your bottom left corner, you don't need to wait till you post a photo . But you do need to be creating a post to see

Like SarahHound I have mine set to BBCode as its so much easier to edit, use BBcode etc. & if necessary copy the whole post including all the formatting before submitting or to paste into another post. Its also easier to rearrange photos etc. If I use the BBcode/IMG links from Flickr or Photobucket then I only see the code not the photo in the BBcode tab but when I go to the Preview tab I do see the photo. However if I accidently paste those links when in the preview tab the photo won't show up in it only the code. However if I switch to BBcode & back to Preview the photo appears (it just needs a nudge to work it out!) which is probably why it only seems to appear if the post is submitted for some people If I use the direct link from pb, flickr or a url from another site such as sherv.net or fb then I use the insert image button on the forum post & the code will appear in the BBcode tab but the photo will appear in the Preview tab even is that is where it is inserted. That probably explains how it works for dutchkitties! Ok now I've confused everyone - sorry.
