Oh Razz, I'm so sorry Ginger has gone but happy, in a way, that it was in his sleep & both of you didn't have to go through the trauma of a visit to the vets. No wonder the flood gates are open He'll now be a peace, well & happy playing with all the other cats & animals who've already gone before to Rainbow Bridge (if you've not heard of that see yourpetforums.co.uk/post/2359 ) He looks a gorgeous ginger boy - I do have rather a penchant for them Take care RIP Ginger

So sad for you Razz but much better that Ginger went peacefully in his sleep with you all there. Remember the good times with him - 18 years of memories, he had a good, long life with you. Love the photos, he was a very handsome boy. Like Toni, I have a soft spot for gingers.
RIP Ginger xxx

Razz, I have only just seen your post and been reading through. I am so very sorry. At least he died peacefully in his sleep with his family around him. Thank you for posting the photos of him. He was a very handsome boy.
R.I.P. Ginger.

Thank you for all your support, I don't know what I'd do without everyone on here. All my other cats are doing well, Crystal and Willow have started playing together again which I haven't seen them do in months. Millie has become a house cat again, in Gingers last few months I barely saw Millie although I knew she was okay as the little monkey was living with my neighbour. But she's back home now and looks like she's here to stay again hopefully.
Another thing was about three days after Ginger died, two mourning doves landed on the garage roof outside just long enough for me to notice them. A message from Ginger maybe...? When my baby Fifi died -hit by a car in 2009- I kept seeing her around the house tripping over a cat that wasn't there, but none of this has happened with Ginger. I hate the idea that Ginger made it to the bridge and Fifi didn't. Your thoughts on this...?
Thanks
Razz x

Like scallywag I'm sure Ginger made it after all there was FiFi to guide him. A nice image of the mourning doves as a message from Ginger saying he & Fifi are OK

Razz, i know its slightly off topic but when my dad died, that same morning, a pied woodpecker landed on our silver birch in the garden. Nothing unusual except never seen one in the garden in all my life or since and it was his favourite kind of bird. Makes you think.

I think that the doves were a message from Ginger With Fifi I feel that some pets try to stay a bit longer and she was just saying goodbye. I'm pleased that your other cats are getting on well and are a comfort to you. When I had my German Shepherd put to sleep we used to hear barking in the nights for a while and no near neighbours had a dog - we like to think it was Sacha saying goodbye before she went to the bridge. When I had my second Sacha pts she had a rainbow coloured collar on; when we came out of the vets a rainbow appeared in the sky and when we got in the car the radio was playing 'Over the Rainbow' by Eva Cassidy. We like to think it was a message.
