I might sound really silly here but I know that if someone tags you or quotes you in a thread you get a notification on here but if
someone posts on a thread you've made or commented on, do you get an email to let you know?

Hi yes go into your profile, select notifications and then tick the ones you want to be notified about via email. But... You need to book mark threads you want notifications for in order to get them x

You need to book mark threads you want notifications for in order to get them x No but if you bookmark it, every time you log in you'll get notified it someones posted on your thread. Actually you don't need to bookmark threads you've created or posted in as you can choose to get a notification when participated threads are updated. If you choose the email option for these then you only get 1 email a day with all the updated ones in but the forum notification is individual (or so the help says - haven't tried it though) . To be notified by email of threads you are interested as soon as they are updated then you will need to bookmark them and set the notification for bookmarked threads. |

Oh, and also, I personally don't receive notification emails, as a lot of the time when I log in I have at least 8-10+ notifications on my profile, so the emails would probably get quite reoccurring and annoying!!

I know exactly what you mean BorderTerrier - the Akita forum I take part in (this is my 7th year on that forum - well, my dad joined me up when I was 7 and of course he helped me post and stuff when I was younger!  ) and I wanted to be notified by email but it's a nightmare because the emails I have is countless and you can't change it on that forum which is why I never done it for this forum! |
