Hi guys, Happy New Year to you all
I was just wondering if any of you could offer your opinions on this issue I've had with Ella.
Ella's 10 years old, 11 soon actually. She's quite a small cat compared to Louis as I've read British Shorthair females are supposedly meant to be. Just weighed her and she's 2.9/3kg, when she was 3.3kg last around spring time I think. (I can't remember when I last weighed her, stupidly didn't write the date)
She's always been a fussy eater and is nothing like her brother who inhales anything that he considers food, but today she just seems off. She ate barely anything in the morning and when we fed her some tinned food she would sniff it and then wouldn't touch it. At first we assumed it was the flavour (which could be a reason) but when we offered her different types of dry food with treats she wouldn't eat that either. I've tried offering it to her in my hand, and she'll only take one little biscuit and walk off.
Her behavior is normal, she purrs like she always does when you come near her and she's drinking water. I've noticed she's not as graceful as before, but I'm not sure if a little instability comes with age. (and when I say that I just mean she swayed once today and just doesn't walk as elegantly as she used to)
I've looked up various things that happen when cats age but really this is the only problem I've had with her. Not sure if I'm over reacting or not, I think I'm getting quite paranoid as they get older! Please let me know if you've had problems like this or if you think there's nothing to worry about. I've decided if she hasn't eaten properly by tomorrow night she'll be off to the vets. I don't know. Maybe it's just an off day for her..
Thank you!
