On the back cover of the new YD (May: came this morning) there is an ad for Eukanuba, with the stuff highly recommended by Victoria Pendleton, Olympic Gold Medalist. Now don't you just think that if SHE recommends it, it MUST be good?? I am sure that, being a cyclist, she must be an expert on dog food! Forget what you might have read about Eukanuba on the Which Dog Food website - it's all wrong! If you are famous you are BOUND to be a dog food expert! (And you probably get a damn good cash payment and free dog food for your recommendation!)
Forget RAW, forget Eden or Applaws or Orijen - what YOU want is Eukenuba and perhaps you'll get an Olympic Gold Medal.

Love it!!!! Over 24 products and they are all pretty similar ingredient wise! and they all seem to have the wonderful Sodium hexametaphosphate in, even the one for sensitive digestion. What could be better for dogs who have sensitive stomachs! But the prospect of getting a gold Olympic medal if I feed it is very tempting......

That made me chuckle Not a big fan of Pendleton either...she's like a wet fart. I read an article about her and her dobermans (gorgeous dogs BTW) a couple of weeks ago, where she stated that as an athelete, she is so incredibly health conscious and wants the best nutrition for her dogs too, so she feeds Eukanbua. And I remember thinking...she's probably never even read the ingredients on the packaging! She musn't have had many offers of work since Strictly...

I don't see why she would be on a dog forum - oh yeah she has dogs, she appeared on Crufts I think.
Eukanuba seems to be thrilled with a new kibble shape that fits the dogs teeth shape and does wonders...... Dear me I don't know.

Each to their own! It's certainly better than some dog foods, its better than them pushing Bakers

Each to their own! It's certainly better than some dog foods, its better than them pushing Bakers Almost anything is better than Bakers, isn't it? But Eukanuba is grain heavy, contains salt, and is virtually the same price as FAR better quality foods like Applaws (dry) and Acana and Eden! What gets up my nose, so to speak, is the implication in the ad that Eukanuba MUST be good and worthy of our consideration, not to say admiration, because this woman is prepared to take part in their advertising campaign, with, as far as I know, NO knowledge of animal nutrition whatsoever!

It's a bit like the DentaStix rant - too much bad ingreedients. Not to mention the fact that DentaStix wee voted the best in the YD product guide.

Oh I agree with you, I just know many dogs who are fed on it and do very well. I'm just glad she's not pushing something worse

I was in Pets At Home last week and there was a man in asking one of the staff about puppy food. As I walked past, I heard the staff member say "You've got Eukanuba, that's one of the top foods..."! Granted, P@H are now starting to sell the better foods such as Arden Grange, but it doesn't sound like they're pushing it much! I did say as I went past, in a fairly loud whisper "no it's not!" but I doubt the man heard me.
Obviously Vicky Pendleton hasn't seen any negative effects of feeding Eukanuba to her dogs and so believes that it's one of the best foods - don't we all believe that about the food we're feeding our dogs?

Ahahaha, love it CS! BT; Next we will be seeing bike shaped Eukanuba biscuits, hahahaha! Sorry, found myself quite funny! I am not too keen on her! Dobermanns were in the last issue too? April issue? But I dunno whether it was her with the two Dobies? :/
