Is it becoming a worsening trend, have noted in the last few weeks in our neighbourhood an increase in dog poo being left behind. Some of the worse places is on football pitches where the local football clubs coach the little ones.

The amount of dog poo in our area is actually decreasing. It's still revolting when you see some lying around. With those lazy people who don't bother, I hate to think what their garden looks like Probably a total waste dump and not a pleasure at all to live near. I certainly couldn't live like that. And I also couldn't live knowing I'd been revolting enough not to pick up my dog's poo, but: DON'T WORRY I DO PICK MY DOG'S POOP UP!!!!!!! People are menacing ;(

I've noticed more lately as well longhope!
Considering I live in a city it's not generally too bad round here to be honest but just lately there does seem to be more. And, at the risk of sounding a bit grim, it's from just a handful of dogs by the looks of it as I'm recognising identical piles. Same dog same walking route. I did shout at one bloke once who just walked off and left some behind. I was like oi do you want a bag for that and shoved a spare bag at him ha ha.
Been through a playing field this morning and saw lots of really dark thin poo, but I think that's the foxes.

I'm the same! Just walked Jasper all the way round the fields and the main route is absolutely covered. We go off the main tracks and round those paths it's not too bad because very few people walk that way. It's like a mine field trying to avoid it...

Same, I recently started taking Scooby to the local park and it's devastating! There's even a dog bin in the park! 3 meters from the worst of the poo, it's shocking! I know exactly who it is, the whole village are trying to stop it but it only takes these three people(and maybe a couple more) to not pick it up and leave it hideous. I nearly threw Scoobs' toy in it the other day! It's really nasty. Younge children play in that area as well as me and Scooby. Something really has to be done.

What also gets me mad is making the effort to clean it up, then throwing the baggie into the hedge row, I mean how lazy is that too

There's loads and loads here. More than I have ever seen anywhere else. Out of around 40 dogs in the village, I know of 6 that get picked up after, and three of those are mine.

The other one I find strange is parents of children at the school I work at walk their dogs on the field where their children play for the school teams, often finding poo on the pitches too.

Yes getting worse here too!! Playing field is just wrong with the kids and footballers! Local historic ruins (who are threatening dog ban / dogs on lead)is the most disgusting though. I noticed today for first time that they have official clear up signs with on spot fine, hoping that will help! Both my dogs go looking for certain poos to roll in up there Beach is even not perfect but there the biggest issue is human rubbish be it previous nights take out or fishermen's rubbish (though latter improved when council threatened to actually do something)!! Though beach has issue at the moment cos oil keeps being uncovered from an old spill!! I do clear up after both my dogs. Sometime feel that I should have a wheelbarrow for it all though!!

Same here. There seems to be an awful lot more on the actual footpaths at the minute. As I was getting ready to take my girls out the other day, I spotted a girl taking her two dogs for a walk. I could see that the smaller one was squatting, and then she just walked off without picking up! I know for a fact that her dad picks up after the dogs as I've seen him do it. I was going to give her a bag if I passed her and tell her to pick it up on her way back, but sadly, I didn't pass her I'll be keeping an eye out for her doing it again though! The school field where I walk is bad too, Longhope. Several times I've picked up after my own dogs in the field, and on the football pitches, but other people don't do the same. Or, they pick it up and then throw the bags in the hedges! There was a letter in our local paper at the weekend about that though, so hopefully that'll stop soon. I was listening to a podcast earlier and something was mentioned about Ben Fogle's opinion on poop that hasn't been scooped. His way of dealing with it is to pick up an extra poo for each poo his own dog does - does anyone else do that? For one thing, I don't see why I should pick up after someone who is just lazy and ignorant, but I don't think I could pick up an unknown dog's mess. It just seems strange to me to do that. He also apparently wants a 'National Poo Day' for people to get out and tackle the problem - I can't see that going down well.

Getting worse in certain places in my area too! It has been getting so bad in my area and there has been so many complaints to the council that I have noticed every couple of weeks a man from the council has been picking up all the dog poo on the field, all by himself bless him because of irresponsible and lazy dog owners just can't be bothered, fair enough if you have ran out of bags or forget a bag! But even if I forget a bag or something I make sure I remember where the poo is and pick it up on my next walk! I think the fines need to be stricter, personally! It takes nothing to get a bag, pick up the poo and dump it in the bin! The worst thing is, is that kids and families like to go out and play, have picnics and take the dog(s) and stuff on nice days, or at least people used to do this, you can't now because it is just full of dog poo, glass and rubbish from chavs and teenagers or just stupid people really!

Yeah loads of Poop here and we are only an ickle village. I didn't know we had that many dogs to leave all this poop about? Makes me think I'm the only one picking up!?! Hubby will pick up other peoples left dog poop if it's on the playing field. But I'm afraid I can't bring myself to do that. Strange really cause it doesn't bother me at all to pick up my own dogs poop?!?

I know someone who saw someone let their dog poo and didn't pick it up, so she bagged it, followed them home, then emptied it onto the persons doorstep!
