Mam said yes, as I told her to feel Kitty while she was eating so she felt her hips. Dads not involved with the cat but he said ok.
If it comes down to it then i have no problem paying for treatment if they wont, but i think that now that mam knows how bad she is it wont be an issue. Need to get on to the vets now.

Sorry to hear how bad Kitty is. As tonib says I'm glad you've made that decision, It's a hard thing to do I know. We had to make the same decision last year for our old dog. Hope there's something that can be done before it comes to that. Let us know what happens. Good Luck.

Well she was supposed to go to the vet today but she hasn't been around since yesterday evening so we had to cancel. I spoke to the vet over the phone and they said that if she does return try and feed her a little bit of food often if I can. She will be going to the vets next week now at the earliest if she returns. (but its odd for her to be gone during the day now - I can be hopeful though)

Well you know what they say, a cat has more than one home. So hopefully thats whats happened in this case and no need to worry too much that shes not home during the day. But keep us up to date yeah.

She did return but she's back and forward a lot.
If she makes it then she is off to the vets on tuesday, obviously she will also have to be hanging around too.

If she comes back tomorrow is there any chance you can keep her indoors until you've managed to get her to the vets?

She hasnt been back at all today :-(
I know that some say that cats go away to die but i hope thats not the case.
She was never a nice cat but I'm actually really sad that she's gone for good, or on her way back to go.

Hope she returns to get to the vet. If she does return can you keep her in (the house or shed/garage) so that she can't escape & hence you can take her to the vet?

When I was very young we had a cat. He got quite ill, and one day when I got home from school my Mum told be than he'd gone out and never come back. I found it comforting that he gone this way, as that was how nature should be. But a few years later while talking about said cat Mum let it slip that in fact he'd been taken to the vets and put to sleep, I was devastated. If kitty has gone off to die, I hope she's found somewhere nice to curl up and go to sleep.

Aw cazypops I'd be devastated too. But it probably would be nicer to hear as a child than, we got the cat put down :/ Come on Kitty come home or else it was nice to meet you, even if you did try to take my hand off

Its been 5 days since poor Kitty was last seen. I'm afraid to say that we are pretty certain that she will not be coming home. I'm relieved, in some ways, that she went naturally, but part of me can't help but think that she was cold, alone and hungry in a ditch somewhere before she died. I wish I could have done something to help her sooner. I will miss being greeted with a fully body rub getting home from school, and the days where she came in my window to 'help' with my homework. This is a more recent picture of her when she was just beginning her downhill spiral, RIP KITTY.
