Just read this and found it a bit depressing. I guess it underscores the need for prospective owners to do their homework with breeders. I never appreciated how much could go wrong with breeding.
I like Burmeses, Snowshoes, Maine Coons and British Shorthairs but for now I'll keep giving a home to rescue moggies when timing allows.
Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Haven't read the article yet but interestingly there was a thread on dog breeding on the forum, linked to an article elsewhere, might be worth having a look to see how they compare. An interesting articleI also will continue with rescue cats much as I'd love a Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest cat.

There IS a way to rescue and get the breed you want - most breed clubs have their own rescue groups so it may be worth having a look.
