Did anyone read the story about an Akita dog that had to be rescued by the Keswick Mountain Rescue Team of 13 volunteers after he cut his paws and was too tired to walk back down from Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England? So heart-warming. The story was on Radio 2. Some people were saying the rescue team shouldn't be called out for a dog, but the leader of the team said of course they go out to rescue a dog.

Obviously I agree the rescue team should be sent out for a dog - what the people that disagree with this need to realise is that if the rescue team don't go out for the dog, they'll soon be sent out for its owner that ended up doing something silly or injuring themselves while trying to get their pet back to safety all by themselves!

Thank you both I'm doing surprisingly ok, I've gotten used to things a bit more now - obviously I still miss him but work is keeping me very busy, I worked 9 hours today with no break (who knew you could even walk that much in a day!)

Flipping heck ! At least when I go 9 hour without a break I'm usually either stood in one place or sat down, I don't know how you did it.

My only "breaks" were driving between dogs whilst stuffing my face with snacks.. or standing around in the secure field while the dogs exercised themselves This is a fairly normal day so I'm used to it Seriously people, don't become a dog walker if you don't want to die

Ooh strange. If you always reject all, I wonder why it would change all of a sudden.
I always just accept all, so I've never had anything like that happen.
