Scary - an area in Wales called Caerphilly, is the first in Wales to go back to lockdown. It's only 15 miles away from where I live. It has had 133 coronavirus cases in the last 7 days and has the highest rate in Wales per 100,000, at 55.4. Young people and holidays are to blame for not social distancing.

I’m absolutely gutted I have only had my new car since June and I was involved in a car accident on my way to work this afternoon. The car in front of me just slammed her breaks on out of the blue so I had to do an emergency stop and unavoidably hit the back of her car 🙈 it’s smashed my bumper /headlights and pushed the wing out on the drivers side - hubby says it looks worse than it is . Luckily I have only a sore bruised shoulder from the seatbelt but a pounding headache 🤕 other than that everything else was ok .

Hope you're ok chantel . It's unfair, but coz you went into the back of her, even though she was the one who braked unexpectedly you will be deemed to be a fault. Hope hubbies right and your car is not off the road for too long. {{HUGS}}

chantel, sorry to hear about the accident I hope you're OK, watch out for delayed shock, it can take you by surprise. lotsofcats, I must apologise for my Welsh geography knowledge. When I heard about the Caerphilly lockdown I wasn't sure where it was, when they said South Wales I did wonder if it was anywhere near you. I hope it does the job & the virus outbreak doesn't spread further afield.

My poor car 🚗 Although hubby says it looks much worse than it is - and it looks more cosmetic thank goodness. So sorry to hear that you had a bump in the car chantel, it is such a horrible thing to happen and it makes you feel sick. It also knocks your confidence for a while. I think you should go to the doctor and get checked over as you could end up with more symptoms and possibly whiplash. My sister in law had a bump in her car and both her and the other driver decided they were okay but a few days later she was in agony and suffered for months with pains in her back and leg. Was there much damage to the other car? I'm not surprised about the lockdown in Caerphilly, around here people are not social distancing. It's horrible to go shopping as you need your wits about you to avoid people walking too near. I go Asda shopping early and it's not too bad, it's when I go to another shop in the town centre that the idiots are out. I wear a mask when I go shopping, with cats on it, of course!

I agree wit the idea of having a check up just to be safe looking at the pictures of ur poor car it fire look like cosmetic but ur garage man will have a look at the underbody chassis's etc was there much damage to the other car did ye swap insurance details although also agree it's a stupid law but yes it seems if u hit the back of the car ahead of u insurance deem that ur fault well unless dash cam if u have one shows the person ahead done something stupid which would be hard prove I hope ur headache has gone away dont leave it to long before u get behind the wheel again coz that kinda accident shatters a person's confidence as they say be kind to yourself this wasn't ur fault

Thanks guys 😊 I work at a go surgery so got checked out. I have bruised my shoulder and the headache is easing off I think it was just tension- although I did feel very achey when I got up yesterday but I have been taking regular pcm and ibuprofen so that’s helping - I think I do have a bit of whiplash.
My car was collected yesterday and they was actually surprised and said that it will be like new when I get it back - they looked underneath it and said they couldn’t see any damage it all looks like cosmetic damage and it wasn’t really that bad it looks much worse - it won’t get wrote off because it’s a brand new car and won’t even be £1,000 damage.
Obviously even though it wasn’t really my fault but I went into the back end of the woman’s car she will claim off my insurance- I have protected no claims so will have to see what happens. Her car wasn’t too bad it was just her back bumper not much damage at all really.
I agree that it will definitely knock my confidence though 😢I’m still feeling really gutted about it 😢
Last day at work today for 2 weeks so I can’t wait just to try and chill out a bit .
