We originally hoped that mircochip flaps would work selctively both ways but they've only just brought the DualScan out which is the only reason I was aware of this distinction. However, for us, microchip flaps are better than the other varieties as it stops a cat being left outside if they lose a collar or in the case of Penny gets a sore neck from a collar.
