zahada, it was a good thought not rubbish . We originally hoped that mircochip flaps would work selctively both ways but they've only just brought the DualScan out which is the only reason I was aware of this distinction. However, for us, microchip flaps are better than the other varieties as it stops a cat being left outside if they lose a collar or in the case of Penny gets a sore neck from a collar.

Is there any way you could perhaps put up a baby gate between the cat flap and the areas puppy can go? A crate is a good idea for pup to sleep in anyway and it'll give the cat the chance to get to know the puppy safely without pup jumping all over him or chasing him and getting scratched et. No reason why, given a few weeks, puppy and cat won't be best friends!
