It's cold. Far too cold. He shudders and moves towards a gentle warm breeze. Once there it is dark but comforting. He feels warm, safe. Curling up, he goes to sleep. When he wakes he realises that further down this dark cave there is even more warmth so he slowly follows this heat. There is light. It leads to more warmth and he finds the cave ends in a large, large area. The floor is no longer cool or solid. It is bouncy and fluffy. Yuk! He dislikes this so finds a solid area again. Then along comes this great daft cat and smacks him on the head. At this point I rescue the SLUG IN MY HOUSE ( !!! ), much against Elsas wishes as slug thumping has just become her favourite 'thing' and put it in a deep pile of leaves outside. I don't mind that it has hibernated deep in the bowels of my home. I do mind the blumin' thing coming into our living space and almost getting eaten by my curious, bonkers cat! And she would eat it too, or at the very least bash it into a flat squish and mashing it into the carpet like she does spiders, poor things. I offer her the best diet, tidbits including fresh, warm chicken. Will she eat posh chicken? No. She'll take a two inch long leopard slug thank you!

Tids ate a slug once, it turned to glue in his mouth. It was everywhere. he never did it again.

Very good what happened to Mr Slug? I put him outside in a deep pile of leaves near the back door so it will probably crawl into a nook or cranny in the wall, i guess that's what happened to get it inside in the first place. I could never kill it, I hate killing things for no reason (even fleas and ticks get a quick death!).

Mr Slug goes on to live another day. I know what you mean about killing things. As much as I am terrified of spiders, I will do everything I can to get one back outside without killing it - catch it in a glass tumbler with a coaster on the top and run screaming to put it out of the window lol

Ruthie thats funny. lol
So the slug will live to tell the tale of how Vonnie, a human being saved his life. Most gardeners would be amazed at such a rescue. lol Now he will reward you by muching holes out of your leafy green foliage from your garden. lol

Quite a funny story! Bless her, or bless the slug anyway! He will probably be telling the story now, to his grand-slug-lets (grand kids)! . But remember if you're a dog owner too, never let your dog lick or eat a slug!! Or snail, it can be very harmful for them!
