www.whole-dog-journal.com/issues/9_5/features/Canine_Aggression_Socialization_15805-1.htmlI found this article quite interesting. I do think that the whole idea of appropriate dog play is quite a cloudy one for most dog owners, similar to dog body language. I liked how it showed you how to properly interrupt bad behaviour when playing and then actually show you how much one dog had improved. Because Oscar doesn't get to play with many dogs as we don't meet them or know many willing owners I don't really know too much about his 'play style', but I do know that he can get very boisterous with the dogs that he does meet. I'm not sure if I can class him as a dog 'bully' as its probably down to poor socialisation. Interesting read.

Hmm, an interesting article. I'm worried now that Ted might be a bully - definitely going to try the NRM with him and see how it goes.

Very interesting read. I think two of Coopers female friends could be bullies??? I don't think Cooper is but the NRM thing might be a good thing to try in certain situations with other dogs. Thanks Bextull.

Hi Bextull,
One of my dog trainers had commented about the strong will of the Beagle, maybe this is a trait rather than under-socialisation. There maybe an element of pecking order going on.

Thanks Bextull. I think it could become handy in other situations but both my dogs tend to be bullied when out on walks? This may be why Charlie is very unsure of meeting new dogs and when on lead often snaps whereas when off lead he just tries to play with the other dog. But I always let the dogs meet on lead before playing off lead, just in case!
