This is very sad for me..
When we went to choose our fluffy little bundle of Aussie puppy love that was Monty, the breeder had three dogs, Ticket and Kane, M and W's parents, and Mausi, Kane's sister. Mausi had recently gone through a phantom pregnancy and was still quite 'upset.' Needless to say, she took it upon herself to mother Ticket's puppies, which turned out to be a great help to her. She cleaned them and told them off for misbehaving. Monty and Woody adored her, she was their other mum!
We meet up with the breeder every time we visit the IOW, and she has on occasion taken Mausi with her. The dogs remembered her, of course, and she was straight back into telling them off. She was such a character, barking at the sea for making noise!
I don't know much, going from a Facebook status only, but she has said that she passed away suddenly today. She is a very loved breeder and has received lots of support from the people who have had dogs from her.
I'm so upset, not just about the loss of such a lovely, loyal dog but also for the breeder, who has remained a close friend of the family, and who has already had some upsetting times this year.
Here are some pictures from a meet up with her. This was, I think, almost 2 years ago, when she would have been around 8 (that didn't stop her, nor her operations on her hips (rabbit hole injury) she'd recently had.)
"What is going on?"
"He's still as retarded as I remember..."
You can tell her apart from Monty because of her bobtail!
