Hiya
I am new to the forum and looking forward to chatting to everyone.
I have 3 adored cats, 1 ragdoll, 1 maine coon x ragdoll and 1 ragdoll x tiffanie. These are totally spoilt and gorgeous boys.

Hi and wecome to the forum - a nice mixture of cat breeds you have there. I'm Jenny and I have 7 cats, including 2 Maine Coons, and 2 dogs. I look forward to hearing all about your 3 cats. What colour are they and what are their names?

Wow 7 cats how fab. I have yet to work out how to upload photos but will get there. My oldest boy a 16 months is Bobby he is a blue bi colour and 3/4 raggie and 1/4 tiffanie. Next comes Oscar who is a seal mitted full ragdoll and last but not least is Eric who is half raggie and half maine coone he is def more maine coon than ragdoll though he is cream mitted and looks just like the cat on the be more dog (o2) advert. Oscar and Eric are both 6months old. I walk dogs at the local animal shelter and would have a house full of animal if my other half would let me.
I would love to hear about your cats too. Do they all get on?

They sound lovely and 2 x 6 months old - kittens! you lucky thing. At the moment you have to use Flickr or Photobucket for photos - I have only just sussed out how to do them myself. There are some instructions on the forum.
My youngest Maine Coon, Kai Ruki is 4 years old and he also looks like the Maine Coon on the O2 advert. The cat on my avatar is Toffee and he was a stray that I adopted last year. He is my only outdoor cat as he doesn't like one of my dogs . My other cats go out in a large garden pen in the daytime and Toffee goes in there in the night. No, my cats don't all get on - they tolerate each other but are getting better, especially Kai Ruki who used to be scared of them all. My oldest Maine Coon, Kiba-Khan who is 6 is boss and too good for all of the other cats (or so he thinks). I have 3 that really get on well as they are a mother cat, Kali aged 3 and her 2 daughters Blackberry and Willow aged 2. My oldest cat Bramble is a loner and never mixes with any of the others - she was a rescue feral kitten. |

Thanks for the info Jenny I will have to look into the photo thing. It sounds like you have a very busy house, an outdoor run sounds brilliant I wish I could do one here but because of the way the house is it is not possible; I think we will have to move!! The kittens are fantastic and Eric the maine coon x is the most gentle laid back cat/kitten I have ever met; he is great with the kids. The vet said that was because of his maine coon side. You would not think them kittens to look at as they are both adult size already. Toffee looks gorgeous I love his photo. Do Maine Coon's take a long while to grow? I know it is about 4 years for the ragdolls. I love your cat names do you ever call them by the wrong name? I do it with just the 3 my son sometimes gets one of the cat names too!!

It states in cat books that Maine Coons take 4 years to be fully grown, the same as Ragdolls; but Kiba-Khan took 5 years - all he needs to do now is fill out. Glad you like my cats names - I like something a bit different - note that the Maine Coons get 2 names each! Kiba-Khan was a joint effort, my son chose the Khan and my daughter chose the Kiba, which is Japanese for fang. My daughter chose the names Kai Ruki - named after 2 members of a Japanese rock band! Yes, I often call my pets by the wrong name - especially the 4 begining with the letter K; Kiba, Kai, Kali and one of my dogs Kobi. |
