Recently I have been keeping a mental diary of Earl's toilets (number 1s) because of something I have noticed - this has been happening recently. He has been acting shifty inside the house, walking around and looking very uncomfortable. He is fully toilet trained and the back door to the back garden is kept open where he has toileted before and likes going into. I take him into the garden and he does a massive wee just outside the door. I don't understand why he hasn't just gone before? Then today, he was sat near me while I was picking blackberries off our tree, then I turned my back on him for a while, then when I looked back, he was laid on his side shivering. I quickly called his name and he sprung up, wagging his tail. I decided to take him or a walk and when we got outside onto the front garden, he did another massive wee. Again, the back door had remained open and he had full access to toilet points in the garden - he was outdoors in the first place. When he does these colossal wees, they don't flow out... they come sprinkling out like they are hurting Earl and he is trying to release them steadily. After he did this wee (and a poo by the way) he was fine. He gobbled his food and drank from his bowl when we got in and I dished out his Burns, and he barked at the window when my dad removed the top-box from the car. He is now sat in the kitchen monitoring my mum making delicious food (typical Earl )
When a puppy, he suffered from a water infection and was treated for that. It cleared up, but I was wondering if his weird-weeing-ways are anything to do with another water infection? I am going to be keeping an actual diary from now on to monitor his weeing and see if I can see anything that might help me with this case. We go on holiday on Wednesday and I was wondering if we should get it checked out at the vets tomorrow? We are researching vets in our holiday destination just in case.
Has anyone got any tips, advice, or does anyone suspect a condition this might be? Like a water infection? I was wondering if he was prone to water infections or just suffered from them more than anything else.
Many, many thanks in advance
