I have gone through every pocket we both own. I have looked everywhere. Even the washing machine and fridge and all the cupboards. Jon said he defiantly put it on the table but I don't remember seeing it when I cleared the table for dinner. It's a mystery. were there any papers on the table it could have been scoped up with ? have you checked the bins ? just a thought xx

I have put on some gloves and dug through the bin and gone through the recycling. Trust me anywhere you could think to look we have looked. I even went out and walked the route we walked the dogs on last night and searched all over the field in case he accidentally took it on the walk with him but nothing. I have a feeling if she hasn't eaten it then it was dropped outside and someone has picked it up and luckily hasn't figured out which car it is.

Was it a normal key or an electronic one?
I would have had my dog in at the vets for x-rays. If the key is still in the stomach they can sometimes retrieve it with an endoscope. Once it's further she might have to be opened up. Let's hope the key is in the wash basket, or kicked behind the sofa or similar and not inside Isis. Does she normally swallow things she shouldn't?
I know a springer that swallowed an electronic car key (quite a big one) right in front of the owner - the dog had to be opened up. But is doing ok.

It was a normal one. I rang the vets this morning and they said watch her and then again but they said still watch her as she wasn't showing any signs. She has gone to the toilet now so everything seems normal that way. I doubt whether she has actually eaten it but when you look everywhere and have a puppy that does like to chew what else can you think. I honestly think it was too big for her to be able to swallow but I have seen some dogs manage to swallow the strangest things.

May I ask who the insurance is with? The microchip insurance is with pet plan and Rio is insured with pet pals Let's hope that Isis had not swallowed the key, but if there is anything untoward and Isis needs treatment, I would be converting the 4 weeks PP cover into a yearly policy. With the other insurance you won't be covered for the treatment as Isis's problem will be a pre existing condition and she may never be covered for anything to do with 'stomach, abdomen etc - worth checking your - policy schedule. Petplan review exclusions and will lift them if appropriate.

When you do get your key back, put loads of keyrings on it!!! I always have it attached to my other keys and key rings, it's only because my boyfriend is using the car that it is off my set of keys and for some reason he didn't attach it to his keys.
