Advice Please. So basically, I'd like to feed all three of our dogs together without having to separate them into different areas of the garden because that's a right pain. None of them have any food aggression problems, but greedy Wilson & Holly are gobblers and try and steal Amber's food. However, Amber doesn't tell them off she just shares it with them. So she ends up with hardly anything to eat!!! My question is, how can I train Holly & Wilson to NOT go near Amber's bowl until she is finished? When she is having a bone I'd also like them to also leave her alone until it's all gone.

Start off by creating a physical barrier between them, so that Holly and Wilson can still see Amber eat but not be allowed to pass to her. Keep a close eye on them and say a sharp 'Ah!' or 'No!' if they try and get to Amber. Once they have understood this, turn your physical barrier into an invisible barrier, and again, make sure they do not cross the invisible barrier you have in your head. Picture this - and briskly stop Holly and Wilson from crossing it. This invisible barrier will remain forever - as long as you stick to the rules that you don't want Holly and Wilson bothering Amber when eating. You are going to have to start off separating them by your barriers, but you have to start 'down there' to progress to where you want; 'up there'! Good luck!

Thanks BorderTerrier. Perfect! I have been working on it with Holly, she's getting the idea. She's clever though and knows if she waits until Amber walks away she will be able to lick her bowl clean On the other hand I think Wilson could be more of a challenge but hey ho I am going to work on it with him. Once Holly is sorted that is.

Well Wilson is only a little pup, so it is to be expected from him, bless him I hope you get a result from this method in which you want!
