What else can I teach Tommy after he has mastered jumping into my arms?? He is 2 years old, we compete at grade 1 agility, he has obedience training every week. He already knows: Sit, Close-about-back(heel and turns), down, emergency stop, beg, hop, hi five, how do you do, find it, leave it, drop it, come, fetch away(stop at item bring item to heel), roll over, bang, abracadabra, twist, spin, up, on, hoop, stool, cup, circle and figure of 8 round legs.
if you need any idea of what these are check out my youtube channel - VickyTommy228 - we have tutorials too.

Wow he knows a lot of tricks! . Well you could probably try getting him to jump over props or your arms like in heelwork to music.

Wow, he knows loads of tricks!! How about wave? Crawl? Speak? Lie down on a blanket, get Tommy to hold a corner of the blanket in his mouth and roll over while holding so that he is wrapped up in the blanket by the time he has rolled over? - I don't know what this trick is called! . Walking on hind legs? - Both backwards and forwards? Good luck, hope this helps a little!

Sounds like he knows a lot of tricks! I dont have much tome to do trick training anymore, always super busy you Could teach him to jump over your arms as jade said, kikopup has a good video on YT . I was starting this with jasper until he started to limp, now all unnecessary jumping is off limits. Put a spanner in the works for agility an flyball You could teach him cop cop, weave through your legs as you walk, cross paws and switch (each way), wave/say hello, tip/tap (stand facing him and get him to touch your right foot with his left and the other way round). Can't explain it well, will have to get a video , who's behind you/look out (look over one of his shoulders) Shut the door - I taught jasper this, took seconds. Just taking a lifetime to perfect. We can build up distance to the end of the room in one session, in the next session we'll go back to around 5 paces away and he has a complete mind blank! When he gets it eventually, it'll be very useful S he likes to nudge the door open and let all the cold air in from the hall haha! Apologies if I've mentioned any he already knows, I forgot what was on your list!

Hi everyone. Are any of you with tricky dogs based in Nottinghamshire? I work for the Nottingham Post and we're doing a week of features on inspirational dogs. If you leave an email address I can get in touch and hopefully we can organise a story about talented dogs with your pet the centre piece!
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately not Up in sunny (lol) County Durham! Plus Jasper isn't that inspirational, he doesn't do much that's interesting, just teach to keep him occupied haha

Sure he is inspirational Charlotte, he is your dog for crying out loud! I am based in Washington, Tyne and Wear (used to live in Durham though Charlotte ) So won't be receiving any emails from me either I am afraid! ziggytommy; What about Bow? On YouTube there is a user called 'kikopup' I don't know whether you have already heard of her but she is a very good dog trainer, she just trick trains at home and has very good videos, she has helped me teach several tricks with just her videos Very worth the watching! Also another trick you could teach is 'limp' ? Keep us pupdated and happy to help!

He's special to me of course but not like Nana or Pudsey or all those amazingly trained dogs And where abouts in Durham did you used to live? I remember you saying you lived this way And kikopup videos are awesome that's where I got the idea for cross paws. I want to teach say yes and no but it's a lot of effort for not having much time on my hands Must get back into regular training though!

Tilly knows: •Sit •Down •Stand •Stay •Recall •Paw (both paws) •Hi 5 (both paws) •Hi 10 •Bow •Play dead •Spin (right turn) •Twist (left turn) •Wait •Leave it •Speak •Guard •Drop it •Balance treat on nose •Retrieval •Fetch •Jump •Round (walk round handler) •Through (walks through handlers legs) •Peek-a-boo (puts head through handlers legs) •Jump •Kiss •Target •Take it off (helps take handlers hat, socks or jumper off) •Turn the lights on/off •Shut/open the door •Carry item •Help (barks multiple times)
Can you take some from that list to teach him?

She'll growl on command if I say 'Guard' I think 'cop-cop' is where the dog stands on your feet when you walk? I could be wrong.

Like ziggytommy has said, what is cop-cop and what is guard? I did know what cop-cop was, but I have forgotten, isn't where your dog is standing between your legs and the dog puts his/her paws on your feet and you walk with the dog? Please correct me if I am wrong! Tilly knows loads, TT! What is Guard? Charlotte; I lived in Brandon and went to school at Durham Johnston I like the idea of Help, TT - Good one!

Yes you're both right You teach the dog to put a paw on each foot and walk forward with them like that. It looks more like a waddle than a walk And ahh cool! I did my driving test in Brandon and my cousins both went/go to Johnsons Sixth Form. My head of year for year 11 actually left us to be assistant head at Johnsons (Mr.Weaver?)

You could try jump through arms!! It's where you put your arms into a hoop shape and your your dog jumps through.
