My cat Billy seems to be really suffering with the heat (well I hope that is it!) He is constantly sat in the coolest room in our house, on the floor (very unlike him!), and hardly eating (again not very like him!) He is one of my six cats and none of the others seem to be the same way - Could it just be the heat or something more serious? Welcome to the forum lellyanne. I'm Toni with 4 rescue cats aged between 4 & 14. Our cats are more idle & sheltering from the heat. One in particular isn't eating as well as he has been, but then he can be a bit fussy at times. Also they are outdoor cats, so can't tell if the are eating out as you might say  I suppose the question is how log has Billy not been eating as normal, is he drinking & also is he losing weight? If he's not drinking and/or losing weight or its been several days that he's not eating as normal (by quite a bit) then I'd at least phone your vet for advice. Should have asked how old is Billy & is he long or short haired? |

One smart cat finding the coolest place in the house. How about some ice cubes in a bowl of water to really cool him down.

Billy is a 4 year old short hair tabby. He is a rescue cat who has been with us for a year now. He has always loved his food. He has been down for a day or 2 now - seems to be drinking OK, but he even refused chicken and ham earlier! Our other 5 seem fine (altho see my next query on Freddie!). I would say he seems a bit bonier but hubby says he doesnt and has just lost a bit of coat! Think I may need to take him the vet to be sure :-(

Billys not good, he just wasnt right so we took him to the vet - he has a masa of some sort they are struggling to diagnose, he is going to be operated on tomorrow but the vet has told us to be prepared :-(
