If you want to copy text, with original formatting, into another thread then here's a method.
- Open the thread which contains the post you want & go to that post
- If the post is yours then click on edit button
- Make sure that the edit window is showing the BBCode tab not the Preview tab
- Highlight all the text in that reply window
- Copy the text (in most browsers that's Ctrl & C)
- You can now close that window (if you want or leave till later)
If the post is someone elses then click on quote and a reply window will open with the post already copied into it
- Make sure that the reply window is showing the BBCode tab not the Preview tab
- Highlight all the text that you want to copy in that reply window,
ignore the[quote .........]and[/quote]text at the beginning & end of the text (this is what makes it a quote) - Copy the text (in most browsers that's Ctrl & C)
- You can now close that window (if you want or leave till later)
- Create the post that you want to put the text in by
either replying to a post (not the Quick Reply option)
or by Creating a thread
- Make sure that the window is showing the BBCode tab not the Preview tab
- Paste the copied text into the post window
- You can now continue with the post as normal, even editing the original text if required (I would suggest checking everything looks OK by using the Preview tab)
