Was sorting through some photos uploading to PB and also finding some to send to Coopers breeder and came across some garden ones I thought I'd share. Can you tell who's watching mother duck and her babies??It's behind you!!Getting up close with more nature.

That couldn't be the one you released (and that's why it's comfortable around Cooper XD) could it? Those pictures are mega cute

That's one of the many ducks we get in the garden through out the year. The mum of the ducklings comes back every year and for the last few years we have a mating pair taking their morning wash in our pond, even though it's the smallest pond EVER.
The duckling that was left behind in our garden was from a pair that spent the whole spring and summer in our garden even though we have Cooper and two cats roaming about. She made a nest on ground level right near the back gate. That's what ducks are like here in Suffolk.

Lovely pictures gladys, they really capture Cooper's interest & the inhabitants of your own nature reserve Wish our cats were as good & share the garden with other wild life. Although I must admit they do leave bees alone

SarahHound Thank you. tonib My eldest cat Gerri is to scared to chase anything bigger than a blackbird. Hubby and I often laugh at the memory of looking out the opened patio door after hearing her meow and see her run passed the door being chased by an angry mother blackbird and then our big lop eared rabbit chasing after the bird. LoL As for Bailey she grow up with chickens and learnt very quickly you don't miss with big birds!! Cooper? Well he just wants to play with everything, even the neighbors cats?? The first ducks he came across was when he was 3 months old. We both stood in our garden one cold and fresh morning around 7 am waiting for him to 'go busy' and the mating pair of ducks join us for a nose about. Cooper watched them wash in our pond then tried to play with them. They have happily shared the garden ever since. WE even got a gorgeous male pheasant in our garden this year when we had all that snow. Cooper just watched with amazement!!

tonib I guess living with fields all around you the wildlife wanders through every now and then. Although the shrew nest behind the pond was a right pain one year with Bailey the catcher about. And trying to get rid of a rat nest under the shed without killing them proved tricky?!? We-re ignoring the mice in the shed, even if all the cats in the close are not!!

I'm interested in how you got rid of the rats nest as I think we've got them under the decking - well Lexie thinks that hole is very interesting.
